The Simple Things

Usually when my kids are quiet for an extended period of time it means they are doing something they shouldn't be--but not this time. Sara and I were in the living room and I noticed Silas hadn't been around for a while and was very quiet. I headed into my bedroom to find his head peering through the blinds to see the big truck parked outside the apartment building. I went to get my camera to capture his "innocence" and Sara climbed up to join him. I love when my kids are fascinated by the simple things!

Funny Memories

This was the first video I had intended to post on our blog. . .better late than never right? It is from Silas's 2nd Birthday back in November. You have to watch closely to see what happens here, but I will tell you this, none of us realized how hot the flame of a candle can be to a kid!

New Year's Eve Festivities

We finally had a good snowfall on New Year's Eve here in Minnesota. The roads were rough so we decided to stay in instead of going to church and then to a friends house for a New Year's Eve party. We ordered Chinese food and did some fun stuff with the kids. Matt's parents got Sara some water color paints so we all sat the kitchen table and painted together. Despite the change of plans, it was nice to be home all together as a family.

An artist in the making . . . .

This was Silas's first experience with water colors. (We won't be doing this again for a while!)

OOOH--Pretty colors!

So much for keeping it on the paper!

Is this stuff edible?

VOILA!
