Just when we thought it was safe. . . .

A week after Silas, almost to the hour, Sara came down with the stomach flu.
(note--I am still trying to catch up my blog so these posts are old--this was New Years)

These pictures say it all. . . .

Silas is my daily challenge. . .he is ALL boy and doesn't stop until nap or bed, and those two things just fuel him for later. He has been described by many as busy, impulsive, strong-willed, etc. . .he is full of life-sometimes to a fault, and these pictures capture him perfectly!! We are hoping boy #2 is a little more mellow.

I just loved this face. . .

Although I will put my plug in for "Little Einsteins." They are GREAT! This is a C.D. Silas got and my kids love it--they hear classical music, go on "missions" to different parts of the world and learn different musical terms and ideas while they listen. I highly recommend them.

Forget the toys. . .

Silas found great satisfaction in his brand-new bed sheets and his clip-on tie!

Christmas Past

I am trying to play catch-up with my blog--yikes! Here is a quick highlight of Christmas morning.

Mr. Conductor

We decided to get Silas some dress-up clothes of his own so he would stop putting Sara's Snow White dress on. . .he loves this little conductor outfit and has only asked for the Snow White heels once:)

Attack of the Stomach Flu

Just when we thought it was safe. . .well, not really, I knew we really couldn't avoid the inevitable. Christmas night, after we put the kids to bed, Silas got hit with the stomach flu, and boy, did he ever get it!! Late night trips upstairs to do laundry and lots of rinsing out trashcans. . .it was a LONG night.

You will never again see Silas this calm. . . unless he gets the stomach flu again. It was honestly a nice break from his normal routine!

Better than Store Bought

Sara has been wanting an apron for a while to wear while she plays with her kitchen set or helps me in the kitchen. I thought about getting her one for Christmas and then Matt suggested I ask Beth to make one, which I thought was a great idea. . .as you can tell by the expression on her face, she loved it!

Thanks Miss Beth!

Lazy Afternoon

It has been so nice having Matt on break from Seminary. . . the kids have loved having daddy home. Most of their cuddle time was spent with him on the couch watching football.

Celebrating 10 Years!!

Happy Anniversary to my best friend and the love of my life! I am so blessed to share this life with you!

What is wrong with this picture?

Okay, so this post could be used as blackmail later, but it's really for those of you moms out there who have a boy (or two) like mine, who likes to play with his sister's dress-up clothes. Silas is truly as boy as they come and I have stories and pictures to prove it, but for some reason he has taken to Snow White.
Honestly, he will dig through Sara's dress-up clothes just to find the red Snow White shoes. Fine, wear the red heels, they make a fun sound on the kitchen floor. . BUT the dress?!! This is where I draw the line! I refuse to help him put it on. I just can't bring myself to do it. However, on this particular day, Esther and her girls were visiting from Wisconsin and Silas was seriously out-numbered 3 to 1! So, since I wouldn't put the dress on, he went to Aunt Esther and asked her instead. I told her I don't allow it, but wouldn't make her out to be the bad guy and make her say no. So here she is helping Silas into his dress. I couldn't resist the photo opportunity, which should haunt him for years to come!

Ta-da!

Matt helped Sara put together this 100 piece puzzle--we both thought she did really well, she actually did a good bit of it by herself!

just cause he's cute!
