Notice the marshmallow on Sara's forehead

Finger lickin' good! One Whole Foot Now!
Last month Matt surprised me by lining up a babysitter and setting up a special date night for the two of us. We went to the Painted Pot-a paint your own pottery shop, and then grabbed dinner out and dessert to take home. Matt and I did this together one other time and I really enjoyed it. Since that time a new "paint your own pottery" shop came into the area. It's a cute little shop with lots of character. It took me quite a while to decide on a piece to paint--I tend to be extremely indecisive!! I finally decided on a small icecream bowl, and there was one other one there that Matt picked out. We love curling up on the couch together with some icecream and a movie on the weekends so it was perfect for us. I have yet to take pictures of our bowls fired and finished, but hopefully will post some soon. We had such a fun time together!

Ezekiel absolutley loves his floor gym. There is a star that sits in the middle that has a smiley face, and he just smiles and talks and belly laughs under there. Hopefully, I will get some pictures posted where I actually captured those expressions!

I have that quote on a piece of vellum, just waiting to be used in Silas's scrapbook (should I ever actually work on it again), and it describes him perfectly. Every night before I go to bed I check on the kids and they always look so sweet and peaceful when they are asleep. Silas is my strong-willed, difficult child. He is impulsive, defiant, and stubborn. And yet there is another side to him, though rarely seen, that is sensitive and thoughtful. It is these times at night when I see him sleeping so peacefully that I wonder how he could cause such turmoil during the day. As difficult as Silas is, I love him to pieces-he gives the best hugs! I have been gently rebuked by others who kindly remind me that God is doing in work in ME through the training process of this little boy. At the end of the day, when I drag myself to bed and peek in on this sweet, peaceful, little guy, I am reminded that he truly is a precious gift from God. I pray for God's strength to remain faithful in this task.

Whoa--this blue is kinda bright--but it's late so I'm going to bed. However, don't be surprised if you see my background change a few times in the next few days. . .I am looking for something new:)

We have had some stormy weather here in Minnesota this past month. .. this was our five minute hailstorm--a very exciting five minutes mind you, and no damage to speak of, thankfully. I went out and grabbed a piece of hail for the kids to hold, and Sara's first words out of her mouth were, "brr. . .it's cold!" It was a neat experience for them, and I think they were both glad it was hail instead of thunder!
