Sara's Favorite
Haircut
More than ready . . .
I don't know who had more fun school shopping, sara or me. . . Sara starts K-4 this year so there were just a few essential things she needed. After a two trips to Walmart she got all of her supplies. A folder, bookbag, lunchbag, napmat, crayons, kleenex, baggies, and gym shoes. Here she is proudly displaying her goods!

Growing Pains
Sara took a little spill on her bike a while back. After seeing the amount of blood coming from her mouth, I thought her tooth may have gone through her bottom lip--thankfully, she just sliced it up a little. Of course, I have to take pictures of these kinds of things for the grandma's and grandpa's who live far away and miss out on the day-to-day injuries of their grandkids.
A train, Mommy!

Not the smartest decision we ever made. . . .
So, here we are at the fair, and I'm thinking, I wonder if there is a ride we can all ride together as a family. I naively suggest the Tilt-O-Whirl, thinking it's a pretty calm ride, the kids would probably like it. HA!! WRONG! It was a nightmare. . .I don't think I have ever been on a tilt-o-whirl that has gone so fast in all of my life. Sara screamed and cried the entire time! "I don't like this thing, I want to get off!!" Silas was all scrunched down into my ribs hanging on for dear life. Yup, we totally traumatized our kids. This picture was a self-taken BEFORE the ride began. . . things were far too chaotic to take one after. After we got off the ride and Sara calmed down she said to me, "Mommy, why did you think that ride would make me laugh?!" Poor kid. . we tried to make up for it by letting them ride another slow, safe, kiddie ride. Live and Learn right?

4th of July
So, July 3rd both Matt and Sara came down with the stomach flu! What a day. I thought this might put a damper on our 4th of July festivities, but Matt was feeling ready to get out of the house and Sara managed to keep some food down. So, despite Sara being rather lethargic that morning, we took a chance(and a bucket just in case) and headed to the parade. Thankfully, everyone was fine and the kids had a ball!
