Sara and Megan

Megan did Sara's hair, special, for her birthday party
Thanks Megan!

Storybook Cake

Every year I try to pick a theme for my kids' birthday parties. I pick the theme according to whatever seems to be of greatest interest to each child that particular year. Last year we had a princess birthday party and this year, I wanted to do a storybook theme. Sara really enjoys books, and loves when anyone reads to her--she will sit for book after book. This past year, Sara and I have been reading through the "Little House on the Prairie" series, so I wanted the cake to look "woodsy" to go along with the books. I knew if I attempted a book cake myself, it would probably look like a third-grader did it. So, I found a small bakery that would make one for me. I told them what I wanted it to look like and what I wanted it to say and left the rest to them. The cake turned out great!!

Sara and Baby Kate

My good friend, Beth Stamper, had a new baby girl in the beginning of March. Sara came with us to the hospital to visit Kate and LOVED seeing this brand new little baby. Towards the end of Beth's pregnancy, Beth told Sara she could hold the baby when Sara turned four. Sara could hardly wait. The day of her party Sara asked me to hold baby Kate. After a little while I told her she could go ask Beth to hold her. Sara was SO excited to finally be able to hold this sweet little girl.

Happy Birthday to my Sister, April

Happy Birthday Apie. . . I know this picture is old and I hope you don't hate me for posting it, but since we haven't seen each other in 3 years, it's the only one I have (Plus, you always look beautiful anyway!) I miss you very much and hope that your day is special. I love you!
~HAPPY BIRTHDAY~
