Raising Monarchs
Silas is fascinated by bugs. Sara loves to know the in's and out's about how everything works. They had captured a caterpillar a while ago and wanted to keep him to see if he would change into a butterfly, but long story short, it died. SO, one of the teens in our youth group brought Sara and Silas two caterpillars in a mason jar all set up with milkweed and one of them already in his chrysalis. The kids thought it was great! So, we "photo-journaled" our caterpillars' transformations from each stage until we released them. The kids loved checking on the caterpillars progress each day. It was a neat experience for all of us as we watched our kids in awe of God's creation. I think Matt and I were just about as amazed as the kids were!
This was Silas's caterpillar--he changed it's named about four times.Sara "claimed" the caterpillar already in the chrysalis--she named her Rose.
"Rose" emerged from her chrysalis

Loving our little guy
We are really enjoying Ezekiel! He is SO happy, so easy-going and smiles and laughs all the time. He is such an enjoyable little guy and we are SO thankful for the gift he has been to us. God has used this little baby to bring us so much joy. We are incredibly blessed!!
One of the teens from our youth group who watches our kids for us a lot brought this t-shirt to the hospital for Ezekiel. I think it is so cute and it describes Ezekiel perfectly! Thanks Alyssa! Tired out!I LOVE these little lips--the cute little "oo" sound he makes is just adorable!!
All of our kids have such great "munchy" (as my sister calls them) cheeks!
